For the Birds...Under $20 Gift Ideas

I am on a bit of a bird kick, which happened to inspire this entire post. The strange thing is I am extremely terrified of real birds, but I love how they look.

I love collecting art from young artists and etsy is a great place to find art at a great price, this print is only $20

I LOVE BIG NECKLACES! This one is beautiful and teal is a great color no matter the season. This can be found at www.Shopthelook.net and it is only $18! Even better, super cute and a deal!

Peacocks are everywhere and I am loving them! The colors are amazing and a little peacock feather adds a lot of glitz and glamour! This peacock feather hair clip is only $14 on etsy.

So cute, the perfect stocking stuffer or co-worker gift, that way you don't have to tell them when they have food in their teeth, you can just ask to see their mirror!
This pocket mirror is only $5.00 found on etsy.

Tis the season....

Only once a year can you get these delicious treats, and I am so excited that it is that time of year! I have been an egg nog lover my whole life and have never understood why I can't get it year round? But my belly thanks the holiday makers of such treats. I sipped on my Sugar Plum Spice tea this afternoon, it is the best! I was NEVER a tea drinker, but this specialty changed my mind years ago. New to the list are Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate Covered Peppermint Joe Joe's.....the Christmas solution to Girl Scout Thin Mints....HEAVENLY! Go get yourself some and have it with egg nog and sugar plum tea, you will be in a Holiday Heavenly Coma afterwords. But it will be well worth it.

Getting in the Christmas Spirit

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and i am so sorry to be out of commission, I think I have been in a bit of mac & cheese coma since last week. So anyways, back to the blogging. I am going to try my best to post very helpful and affordable Christmas ideas....so we will start with food!

This is a very delicious breakfast quiche that I have been thinking about for over a year when a fabulous friend made it for me. Here you go, hope you enjoy!

Puff Pastry Breakfast Quiche

2 Sheets frozen puff pastry
2 cups diced ham (or as her sassy mom suggests...shrimp or lobster, sorry sue, I'm on a budget!)
3 cups swiss cheese shredded
3 cups mushrooms (saute the night before)
1 cup onions (saute the night before)
2 eggs
1/2 t salt
1/2 t pepper
1/4 t ground nutmeg
1 T fresh basil (I am going to try rosemary)
1 cup sour cream

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Unfold one sheet of the pastry sheet on each 2 baking sheets. Top with ham, mushrooms, cheese, and leave a 1/2 inch border.
Whisk eggs and spices in bowl
Whisk in Sour Cream
Spoon egg mixture over toppings on each pastry.
Bake for 25 minutes or until puffed and golden and toppings are set

Serve with Mimosas and Great Friends and Enjoy!

If I had a mountain house...

I went up to Cashiers this weekend to meet up with some wonderful friends! We spent Friday night by the fire sippin' wine and making s'mores, what could be better?

The house we stay in is just beautiful, right on the lake with trees surrounding, today it is RAINY and has me itchin' to be curled up by a fire overlooking a mountain and the lake....but it is back to reality for me! So if I had a mountain house....here is what you might see...

Fall is here!

It is PUMPKIN TIME! Here are some fun ways to decorate for fall and halloween.

It is terribly dreary out, but to me this is what Fall is supposed to look like! Aren't these beautiful? I have decided that I will now have favorite flowers of each season, these are some for fall! So in love with Dahlia's right now and any from the farmers market!

The First Blog...

I am new to this blogging thing, so bare with me. I have spent this Sunday preparing a blog and re-designing my bedroom. Here are some pictures I have used to inspire me, they are beautiful and serene. A perfect place for a Sunday Nap!
